branded reading content with Turtlepack
6 months or so ago now, I began growing a TikTok account.
It was a bit of an experiment. Every day for 2 weeks, I sat on my floor and read an extract from a book that I liked.
That was it. I didn’t look at anyone else’s content or vary what I was doing at all. I gave myself as few things to think about as possible and contrary to my usual approach, I didn’t do a load of research on best practice. I just wanted to see how it went.
It went better than I expected and I also enjoyed it more than I thought I would! I’ve carried on and am now fielding approaches from brands.
One of the first brands to get in touch was a children’s swimming aid called Turtlepack. It’s a backpack shaped like a turtleshell designed to help kids learn to swim in a more natural position in the water than they get with armbands. As they improve, you can take off the larger shells, decreasing the buoyancy aid as they get stronger.
They're also really fun and there's a Ninja Turtles one for older kids (Raphael was my favourite).
Given it’s a blend of fun, education and exercise, I was keen to give some to various little people about to learn to swim at Christmas time and they loved them! Since then I’ve contributed some content to the Turtlepack social channels, reading children’s stories like the Jungle Book for their audience of parents and toddlers.
I grew up swimming and love it to this day while reading has always been a huge cornerstone in my life. Both are beautiful ways to explore the world and I was delighted to have the opportunity to encourage kids both into the water and into the pages of a book.
Turtlepack liked it too:
