7 great sport books for you to read
Here are some sorts books I recommend - some are serious, some are funny, some are both.
They all provide some sort of real insight into the world of professional sports, from the crushing pain and loneliness that can both elevate and floor you in Mike Tyson's case, to the physical and psychological realities of doping in the case of the cycling memoirs or the sheer joy and beauty that sport can elicit in the case of Ben Ryan or Williams Finnegan's books.
Zlatan's book defies characterisaiton like its subject. Is it a massive postmodern joke, a comment on the ridiculousness of the elite footballer? Or is it just a crass celebration of his superego?
As is the case with all these fascinating people, it's probably a bit of both.
